Kathleen VanDyke
Current Position: Currently in higher education in a student service functional area that includes academic advising, academic coaching, and student success
Location: Dr. VanDyke received her Ed.D. in higher education leadership from Sam Houston State University on May 14, 2022. Her dissertation entitled “A Legacy of Financial Inequities: A Historical Black College and University Stakeholders Response to Funding Strategies in Texas” focused on state funding inequities that impact HBCUs. Dr. VanDyke plans on publishing HBCU funding research, while also working in student services and adjunct teaching. Dr. VanDyke credits her persistence through the doctoral journey to God, and her support village that included: family, sorority sisters, friends, and colleagues. Surrounding herself with an accountability team that included: inspirational women, like-minded women, and supportive women have been the key to her success. Dr. VanDyke encourages women to keep the faith and keep the fight!!!!
